PA 911 Operator, Kaitlynn Beatty, 20, Killed In Crash: State Police

A three-vehicle crash has left a 911 operator dead, authorities explained in the days following her sudden passing.

Kaitlynn Elizabeth Beatty, 20 of Irwin, was killed in a three-vehicle crash along Glades Pike/Route 31, west of Tree Army Road in Jefferson Township on Jan. 30, as detailed in the Pennsylvania State Police report. 

Kaitlynn died at the scene, PSP Trooper Christopher Allen Explained. She had been on her way home from work at Somerset County 911. 

She was a Pittsburgh native who had turned 20 years old just 15 days before the crash, according to her obituary. 

She was a class of 2022 graduate of Hempfield High School. She went on to become a member of both the Manor and Hunker Volunteer Fire Departments, as stated on social media. 

She was also a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Irwin, where her funeral was held on Feb. 3, as explained in her obituary. 

She is survived by her parents, Ronald C. Beatty (Crystal Gamble) of Irwin and Kari L. (Fredley) Kennedy (William McCabe) of Michigan; her sister Casandra Marie Beatty (Alayna) of Mississippi; step-siblings Mark Gamble Jr. and Emily Gamble; her extended family and her dogs.
